Dear Friends, Arkadians, Dancers and Greek Music (esp. Klarino) Lovers,
In case you did not already know, and the publicity this year has been a bit lacking, the Arkadians of San Diego, of the PanArcadian Federation of America, Tegea Chapter, are holding their major event, like they have for many years this time of year, known as the Destiny Of Distinction. Please download the flyer wherein you will see that it is taking place:
SATURDAY, September 19, 2015
5pm Cocktails and Appetizers
Cypress Room, St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church
LIVE GREEK MUSIC – Direct From Greece:
“From Trikala To Tripolitsa, Trio”!
Arkadian Dancers and Klarino Klub
As we have done in the past, the night’s dancing will begin with youth and young adults performing the traditional Syrto and Tsamiko to the music of the T to T Trio. I encourage all to make this a family affair and for your kids to be featured, each with a turn in the lead, if so desired; Arkadian heritage is NOT a requirement. The opportunity to dance to live, quality, traditional Greek music should not be missed! Which brings me to Klarino Klub. Though we’re sharing expenses to bring these wonderful musicians all the way from beloved Ellas with our fellow Arkadians from Los Angeles, holding their own Glendi the following Saturday night in Anaheim (contact me for details), a Klarino Klub sponsorship will go a long way in defraying the higher cost, but certainly, I hope you will agree, worthwhile cultural exposure. $25 (Enthusiast), $50 (Aficionado), $100 (Artist), $250 (Master), $500 (Klarino H Thanatos).
IMPORTANT: Please reply here, or call me (# below) as soon as possible so your (youth/young adult dancer’s) name, and your name(s) and level for Klarino Klub can be included in the evening’s program. Make checks payable to PanArcadians, Tegea Chapter and send to address below.
Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you at the Destiny Of Distinction on the evening of the 19th!!

A post-Pascha Arcadian Social Gathering and Fundraiser for the entire community was held by the Salt Lake City Theodoros Kolokotronis Chapter #90 on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 6:00 pm at Aristo’s Restaurant. There were 35 attendees. Keynote speaker was Dr. Stavros Drakos. Purpose of the event was to raise awareness of the need for funds to purchase kidney dialysis machines, angioplasty clinic materials, and other needed hospital supplies for the Pan Arcadian Hospital in Tripolis, Arcadia, Greece. Dr. Drakos outlined the details of what was needed and shared the statistics of medical procedures and patient care. He also shared the collaborative efforts between the University of Utah School of Medicine and the University of Athens.
Donation forms were made available at the May 3rd gathering, as well as being distributed to the Salt Lake Greek Orthodox Community via email, surface mail, and handouts at both Holy Trinity and Prophet Elias.
To date, the number of donors has reached 46—individuals, families, and organizations. At present, the collected funds total $8,220.
